The X Factor : Episode 2 - from the deluded to the sublime

Episode two kicks off in Manchester, with the usual mix of quality and… well complete rubbish.

Getting the XFFO award for most deluded audition is Warren, a performing arts student without the performance skills or the artistry. Most cringe-worthy was the fact that he just couldn’t accept it when he got ‘No’s from Simon and Louis (Sharon doing her usual “let’s say Yes for a laugh” trick!)

Surprisingly, the best talent on the show isn’t going through, but not because the judges said ‘No’. Wannabe opera singer Paris wowed the judges despite her age of 16 years. Imagine their surprise when she started crying after they said ‘Yes’ and confessed she was only 14. A definite future star there…

Perhaps the one to look out for later in the series was 17-year old Raymond - a fan of the old standards who impressed all 3 of the judges with Dean Martin’s “Ain’t that a kick in the head”.

Over in Birmingham, Louis Walsh had the sole vote on whether Vicky (who runs an un-official Louis fan-site!) would go through - who’d have guessed he would say Yes?! (I suppose you have to keep your fans sweet when you only have 45 of them…)

Richard was probably the pick of the bunch in Birmingham - a good look, nice voice and seems to really have the motivation to want to make it, after seeing things go wrong for his Dad…
